Simóne Sceriha is an inspiration to people everywhere. Her story is a testament of the power of God to take someone so broken and create someone so beautiful.
At the persistent invitation of her sister, Simóne attended a youth service at a local church in 2000, where she encountered God for the first time. From that moment Simóne’s life has never been the same again as she began to discover her life’s purpose and meaning.
After 12 years of faithful service at her local church, SURFCiTY Church in Surfers Paradise, Australia; Simóne, together with her husband Mark and children, Bella and Noah was blessed and commissioned from SURFCiTY to pastor a newly established church in the central region of the Gold Coast.
OVERCOMING EVERY OBSTACLE
Born in the Australian outback town of Broken Hill, Simóne’s upbringing has been far from traditional. As the step-daughter of a travelling bank manager, Simóne never lived in one town for more than two and a half years until she moved to the Gold Coast in 1993.
Following an accident at the age of 12 and a series of family breakdowns Simóne’s life began to spiral out of control. Told by physicians to prepare to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair Simóne’s future looked bleak.
Simóne’s teenage years were spent isolated in suicidal depression and drug addiction, far from the blessed family life she lives today.
Having come from such a dark place has inspired Simóne to reach as many people as possible with the message of freedom, hope and purpose found in Jesus Christ.
Taking every opportunity available Simóne labours to see people discover God’s best for them.
