Overcoming the Voice of Accusation

It’s easy to fight what someone says about you when it’s not true but when the voice of accusation uses something that’s true what are you to do?

When you’re going through a difficult time, it’s so easy to think that maybe you’re just getting what you had coming to you. You can probably handle it when you’re accused of something you know you didn’t do, but what do you do when the voice of accusation accuses you of something that you’re struggling with anyway?

The Apostle Paul was a Christian killer. He built his career on murdering Christians and now he’s saved and trying to get on with his life. He’s trying to serve God in the midst of hardship, when the voice of accusation is over in the corner saying maybe you’re just getting what you should have gotten, maybe you are a murderer.

Whenever you’ve done something in your past there is a haunting over your head that maybe you’re going to reap back that thing in your life.

I’ve heard preachers say that he had so many misfortunes; he suffered so much persecution and had so many trials because he had it coming. But I don’t believe it. I don’t believe that I can sow something in my sinful life; then get saved and reap it in my saved life. If that is the case, then what are we saved from?

Jesus bore my grief and took my sorrows. He was crucified for my sins.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

2 Cor 5:17
